ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Few artists of my knowledge have a wider gulf between their talents and their renown than Falstaff. He's got an amazing Chris Isaak/Dwight Yoakam-style voice and a natural-born Texas drawl. He's a mean guitar-picker and a great showman on stage. Chicks dig his chiseled features and lanky, six-foot-five frame, and he's one of the nicest guys in town. He's not possessed of any serious vices -- he likes his whiskey, but he's a sipper and not a shooter. Greg Wood wrote a song -- "Tall Walkin' Texas Trash" -- about him that was recorded by Jesse Dayton. He's even got a new song on his MySpace page called "Shine" that should be a smash hit Texas country single. Why is Johnny Falstaff not a household name from Brownsville to Dumas, Orange to El Paso?

Great Country Music
Great Country Music out of Houston Texas. Fans of Dwight Yoakam will love this CD. Go Johhny Go.

Jason Williams

wonderful traditional county music with that great Texas twang
Love the CD! Absolutely great sound. Doesn't contain fluff or gimmick lyrics like today's country radio. Johnny has a great voice and a top notch band. Love that Texas country music. Looking forward to the next CD with hopefully a few more songs!

Sherry

ventral tegmental

bad meaning good
johnny stands ten foot tall with a knife. he evolved into a legless dog that speaks 69 languages. he is the magma, not the crust.

BluesBunny

Proper country music
Close your eyes and you will find yourself in a bar in deepest Texas. You smell the cigarettes and listen to bar talk. Behind the chicken wire there is a 6 foot five singer playing the truest country music seasoned with a pinch of rockabilly. That was the feeling BluesBunny got when he listened to this 6 track EP from Johnny Falstaff. There is some fine guitar pickin’ on the heartfelt ballad “Foolish Me” and “Fallen” rocks the juke joint. “Shine” is the perfect sing-along to accompany some fine bourbon. All tracks were written by the man himself. He wears a big stetson too. The sound quality of the CD could be better and does not do justice to his voice.

It "Shines!!!!!!"
Take a great song and sing with all you've got. Shine blew me away the first time I heard it.I listened to all the other tracks and bought it immediately.Even the quirky production is a sign of character that makes it stand out from the pack.I can listen to this CD over and over.
Way to go Johnny!!!!
