ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
JOHN STOWELL
Christopher and I have played and taught together on occasion for the last ten years or so and I always enjoy our meetings. Our playing styles are different but complimentary. Christopher’s use of space and conversational approach make him an ideal duo partner. I also love his sound and work as a composer. For this project we each contributed original tunes and also played a free improvisation. I think the result sounds spontaneous and captures the feeling of one of our live performances.

CHRISTOPHER WOITACH
We have been thinking about this project for some time. The idea of recording in my living room, taking our time and experimenting with different sounds was very appealing to both of us. When we finally sat down to record, there was a feeling of playfulness and fun that made the process a unique and wonderful experience. My two little pugs, Greta and Lucy, sat with us the whole time, with John regularly asking their opinion - “what do you think, girls, a little more reverb?” Throughout all of this, John’s exquisite playing and musicality were, as always, profoundly inspiring, making it easy for me to play. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did.
