Jonny Blu (藍強) has, for several years now, successfully pursued a completely unprecedented approach to the world music scene. In October of 2004, Jonny signed with See Music** in Hong Kong, China and has since released his album “On the Edge”, including the 3 chart topping Mandarin songs "On the Edge" "The Apology" and "Crossroads". Jonny’s style is a mix of R&B, Electronica, and Western pop, blended with a C-Pop feel and the songs are all uniquely written (in Mandarin Chinese) and produced by Jonny, along with well-known LA based producer, Myke Aaron. His music and their accompanying Music Videos have been heard, karaoked, and viewed by millions.
Jonny has also appeared in several television shows (including "Solid Gold Music", TVB, CCTV, etc.), radio shows (RTHK, Commercial Radio, etc.) newspapers and magazines (Men’s Uno, Rolling Stone, Apple Daily, etc.) throughout southern China. Most interestingly Jonny’s music videos can be viewed and sung along with at all the major Karaoke chains in China and he’s the only non-Chinese among the Chinese music artists!
Jonny has most notably attained two crowning achievements to date. In 2004, Jonny appeared in the blockbuster Disney movie “Princess Diaries 2”, in which he not only sang his Mandarin song “Miracles Happen”, but he also received an RIAA Certified Gold Record for the same song on the Movie Soundtrack (over 700.000 sold). Also, Jonny was also voted as "Hot New Sound" at the 2005 Metro Music Awards in Hong Kong, which has never before been achieved by a non-Chinese. Jonny Blu is the first and only Caucasian artist to have ever successfully broken into the Chinese music business and his fan base grows daily.
