ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album is a departure from my previous, mainly acoustic blues releases. It features a full band sound. I began my musical career playing saxophone, but had not played it for over 20 years. As I began working on this new album, I had a visit from and old drummer friend of mine, Mike Wilps. His father played drums with my father, who played saxophone, in a number of bands during the big band era. This meeting lead to a collaboration with him and two other musicians from western Pennsylvania, Donn Overly (guitar and keyboards) and Ronnie Grkman (bass). This album is dedicated to Patty Bourke (my father) and Shack Wilps (Mike's father).

Jook is cooking!!
I have been waiting a long time to hear Jook once again play his sax and it was well worth the wait!! I have all of his CD's and have enjoyed them immensely, especially since they all tell stories about family and friends. Jook is a very talented musician and pretty much does all the work on his CD's, including the background vocals, guitars, keyboards; some percussion and now the sax is just an awesome addition to all the other instruments he plays. It really jazzes up his style. The opening track on this CD has great rhythm and is a catchy tune about his first granddaughter. I really like the fast beat on a lot of his songs particularly "All Night Long". His music is very clean and some of it even sounds a little like the Doobie Brothers. There are a couple of slower sweet ballads about his daughters...a nice combo. The music is easy to listen to at home or go out and party to. I am really looking forward to hearing him and his buddies from PA come play locally very soon!
