Album Notes
Jordan C Thomas is a singer/songwriter working in the styles of Jazz, Swing and Rockabilly with master skill and effortless cool. In this niche he is one of Australia's most sought after musicians - playing with such luminaries as Imelda May, Royal Crown Revue, Pink Martini, Mojo Juju, the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Deke Dickerson, the Louisville Sluggers, Lee Rocker and many more.
On this record Jordan puts his old 1954 Gibson ES 150 through its paces, while the band (baritone and senor sax, trumpet, double bass and drums) create an authentic yet unique sound that cannot be pigeon holed. The bands sophistication and sartorial dedication give the band a special gravitas, putting them in a league above any 'retro' or 'flashback' tribute.
The Jordan C Thomas is a refreshing statement against the pre-packaged ‘flash in the pan’ pop idols that clog the airwaves. The sound is traditional; authentic, but it transcends eras, fads and fashions. It's cool, it's old school and it's on this record.
