Josh has toured Europe, America and Africa doing collaborations with international artist
like Max Wild and the Swedish band Hornstull. He started touring as a sideman in 2006 with
different artist like Chiwoniso and comrade Fasto. In 2010 Josh did a collaboration with

picked up his father`s guitar and started teaching himself. He developed an interest in the
instrument that saw him playing in church at the age of 12. By the time he reached 15 years,
he was already a professional musician doing session work for a number of Zimbabwean
Soon after High school, Josh started to perform in Jazz clubs doing session work for top
Zimbabwean Jazz musicians.
With the vast experience he gained from working with the best, Josh decided to pursue a
solo career.
He recorded his debut album entitled Wanetsa in 2008 with the hit song Wanetsa that
topped the local charts in Zimbabwe. The music pulses with Zimbabwean traditional
rhythms such as Mhande and Katekwe and is fused with the modern contemporary jazz
styles. The album discusses day to day life in Zimbabwe and the challenges faced by
Africans in their quest to build a better Africa. A blend of traditional Zimbabwean
instruments such as the mbira and marimba, with electronic instruments such as the bass
guitar, keyboards and drums also influence the unique sound on the album. In 2011 Josh
started working on his latest offering that he then released in 2012. The album is entitled
TIME. Due to the vast experience of touring and meeting a lot of different musicians
worldwide Josh managed to work with musicians from Sweden and Denmark on this album.
Josh Meck is a multi talented Afro jazz musician who has a strong passion for music,as he
expresses this in the way he performs. He has a unique powerful stage presents that
separates him from the rest. His ability to communicate to the crowd and his charismatic
nature and sensational facial expressions when he plays the guitar makes him a truly
unique artist. He draws his inspiration from stars like Salif Keita and Richard Bona.
