ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Josh Schroeder is a national award winning songwriter, two-time Grammy performer, and winner of many awards as a vocalist and instrumentalist. He developed his brand of original music in front of audiences in the Northwest, USA and he currently resides in Southern, CA.

Schroeder self-produced his first solo EP, Love is a Shade (2009) at his "Schroedland Studios" in Hollywood. He invited some of LA's finest musicians to play on the album including Jimmy Paxson (drums, Stevie Nicks), Eric Holden (bass, Five for Fighting) and Dave Green (guitar, Los Abandoned) as well as Matt Casebeer (piano, rhodes) and his current collaborator Charles Altura (guitar). The EP features 7 highly personal songs about unrequited infatuation, infidelity, and longing.

Byzantine Blues
A wonderful album. I'm particularly fond of Love is a Shade, Personal Defects, and Byzantine Blues - some very poetic lyrics, all. Thank you.

Love Is A Shade
It's tough to pin point Josh's style. His music is crisp, emotional and inspirational all at once. I have been listening to the ep for some time and have yet to figure out which song is my favor; they are all that good. Josh is talented to say the least. If he keeps turing out music this incredible it's only a matter of time before the world catches on.
Much peace and continued success!
