Jim Beam & Juliets

by Joshua "Beardo" Simon

A diverse multi-instrumentalist plays and sings every part on this album (other than some of the drums); the songs wind their way through a lot of different musical territory, but the honesty is constant.

Album Notes
In the deep winter of early 2012, Spokane based multi instrumentalist Joshua "Beardo" Simon holed up in a cold warehouse in the heart of the industrial sector of town, and got to work. Other than some help on the drums from his long-time friend Tony Saccomanno, he painstakingly layered each and every instrument on these 9 tracks himself, in an attempt to craft a deeply personal collection of new material that winds its way through a number of distinct genres and influences. The songs visit some themes common to everyone (love, loss, and betrayal), but the creative approach makes them sound not quite like anything else. "A lot of it comes from frustration at the sort of music that was entering my daily life," says Joshua. "I just wanted to make a record that I wanted to hear."

Joshua "Beardo" Simon- vocals; electric, fretless, and upright basses; electric, acoustic, 12 string, and slide guitars; banjo; mandolin; piano; Fender Rhodes; Hammond B3; Hohner D6 Clavinet; Wurlitzer electric piano; Korg Triton; drumset; percussion; flute; and a 1/2 gallon Pendleton whiskey bottle.

Tony Saccomanno- Drumset on tracks 1,3,4,7, & 9.

Jimmie Denny- Additional engineering, mixing, and all around audio and spiritual wisdom.
