Album Notes
Of the twelve tunes presented in this collection, ten were originally written earlier than 1965. Of the remaining two, Save The Country was written by Laura Nyro in 1968, and the brilliantly barbed It's About Oil was penned by Amy Martin ( is the only contemporary tune of the lot.

Fortunately for me, 'Afghanistan' rhymes quite well in place of 'Viet Nam'....

At this juncture in time, the truth has finally come out that the incident at the Gulf of Tonkin, used to justify our involvement in Viet Nam, was a complete and utter fabrication. It never happened. Period. This is not speculation. It is not conspiracy theory. It isn't even a partisan political point. President Lyndon Johnson, in service to corporate interests that stood to make billions of dollars by profiteering on a full scale war, LIED, committing treason, and murdering thousands of young American men and woman, so that the greedy, criminal cronies who filled this pockets, and those of his fellow traitors, could make money.

Did George W. Bush, and his evil puppet master, Dick Cheney, DELIBERATELY lie to involve us in Iraq, or were them merely criminally incompetent? Perhaps history will tell, but the fact cannot be disputed that many of their friends in the Oil Industry, at Halliburton, and many, many others made huge profits as a result of this 'mistake'. Who, precisely, ARE these criminal monsters who so cavalierly sacrifice the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent human beings, in service to their personal enrichment? The answer is clear and simple:

The 1 %!

Let's get one thing perfectly clear: Nobody EARNS a hundred million or a billion dollars. Nobody is that smart, that gifted, or that hard-working. People may come by such wealth in numerous ways, but none of them are the result of hard work, creativity, or intelligence.

People may INHERIT great sums of money, which is the equivalent of the creation of an entrenched ruling class. People may steal, swindle, or connive in various ways to amass such wealth. However, none of these are consistent with the any social, economic, or political system that purports to reward individuals for their hard work.

In our current society, ALL such individuals possess their wealth by virtue of having connived with a complicit government in order to deprived 99% of their neighbors of the basic necessities of life, in order that they can gain inordinate power, wealth, and influence, and pass the resultant benefits along to their offspring. In other words, they are not happy just to deprive YOU so they can have more, but wish to ensure that their CHILDREN will always be overlords, and YOUR children will forever be their subordinates. (Those of your offspring who manage to survive their succession of wars.)

This is not Democracy, and this is not Capitalism. What it IS, in every respect, is FEUDALISM. If you WANT your descendants to be serfs for perpetuity, then by all means, keep supporting the status quo. Keep allowing these enemies of humanity to rule. Otherwise, it's high time we took up our pitchforks, hoes, and torches, and: KickThemOut (dot org).
