Taste of Chocolate

by Journey to Ithaca

The beautiful sound of bouzouki combined with poetic lyrics reminiscent of the new wave style of Greek music popular in the '60s and '70s but updated with the sounds of contemporary Greek music.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I have noticed that people don't write many happy songs. Some would say that this is another sign of our times, being so dry and uninspiring, fast paced and full of stress. Yet, during the warm summer months here and the occasional trips to Greece, I felt the aura of joyful verses springing from inside: first, like trickles of a small spring then the roar of a furious river. The beauty of life, the carefree days and the endless optimism overpowered me. The verses got drenched by the sea mist, became flowerbeds, comfortable chairs in the small balconies, fishing boats anchored in the docks and old tables on the seaside taverns. As I forgot myself in these sizzling days, I felt the melodies coming slowly like the nights full of wondrous sounds. And yes, I wanted to believe and sing again about Love, mother of hope, everlastingly young and engaging.
