ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
However great the impact of modern dance tempos in the world of music today, the “Rondalla”, with its unique native instruments, viz: “laud”, “octavina , “banduria”,
“piccolo”, “tambol”, “bajo de unias”, “gitara”, and “mandola”, producing wave upon
wave of exciting and wonderfully fresh sound- remains closest to the Filipino’s heart.
It is his first love and always greets the Rondalla with a galvanic standing ovation
Whenever it appears in its thousand and one fiesta and other civic or cultural activity each year.
In this album, the seventh in a series of Philippine Folk Dances, the repertoire is similar to those of the successful previous albums. The Rondalla under the astute direction of eminent composer and arranger Juan Silos Jr. gives an equally great performance as if they were playing before a teeming crowd of music lovers at a festival.
We reiterate our sincere wish, as in our past productions of Folk Dances, that this Cd will bring you incalculable pleasure and in no small measure add more listening delight to the precious moments you’ll spend with our very own folk dances.
