ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
KAASHE music is a celebration of good music to inspire good times. The word KAASHE is a combination of two ancient African terms, KA- an Egyptian word meaning soul and Ashe, a Yuroba word meaning power. The power of Soul music has its roots in drumming traditions found throughout the continent of Africa as well as various tones and melodies. While Soul music developed as a genre of music in America during the early 1960's, its parent music style Jazz, had been well established for many decades before. From bands to individual performers and even club DJ's, many have been influenced by the sounds and emotions streaming from both of these amazing musical formulas. KAASHE music pays homage to great old school Soul and Jazz while adding contemporary sounds and rhythms in order to present our own gentle twist to Urban Jazz music.
