Inspired
This is a truly wonderful album. Recorded with obvious care it features excellent musicians with Kait Dunton in the lead at the piano. Dunton studied - amongst others - also under Alan Pasqua, and it's safe to say that she pickes up a lot of his fluent melodic composing style. Her compositions as well as her playing style reminds me a lot of Pasqua, without being a bland copy. Still it is not surprising that both Peter Erksine and Darek Oles, frequent companions of Alan Pasqua also perform on this album.
The pieces range from "dreamy" to energetic, and showcase a fine selection of musicians and a musical imagination all too often sorely missed. Not so here. Any fan of Alan Pasqua, or "Alternate Routes" by Jeff Beal can safely get this record.
