Album Notes
"I have recently been fortunate enough to work with Karen Lovely and honestly think she is the most talented singer I have been associated with since my early days with Robert Cray."
- Dennis Walker, multi Grammy winning producer

"her voice cracks my heart in half..."
- Chris Conrad, Mail Tribune

"This is my new favorite CD...what a set of pipes!"
- DJ Spike, KRVM 91.9, Breakfast with the Blues, Eugene, Oregon

"I've been playing your music on my shows since we got your CD."
- Cap'n Barney, WMHB 89.7, Colby College, Waterville, Maine

"Along the lines of what Renee Zellweger said to Tom Cruise in the "JERRY MAGUIRE" movie, KAREN LOVELY "had me'" with "Early one morning...", the opening words on the opening track. It took exactly that little of "TELL ME BABY" for me know this lady could sing the blues. From a soft, sexy, whisper to a powerful crescendo, Karen's vocal range... is absolutely masterful. As you hear her sing the lyrics "Blues is my business and business is good" it's a no brainer knowing that with a voice like this, business is going to stay good."
- Peter "Blewzzman" Lauro, Blues Editor @ www.Mary4Music.com

The stunning debut recording, Lucky Girl, by Oregon blues vocalist Karen Lovely is about to take the music loving world by storm. Playing through Lucky Girl is like listening to a history of blues, rhythm & blues and soul all wrapped into one knockout musical package. She covers the spectrum of excellence, from the opening bars of B.B. King's Tell Me Baby to the “gotta smile” handling of John Lee Hooker's Boom Boom into the soulful rendering of the Dennis Walker/ Alan Mirikitani collaboration, Too Little, Too Late. Along with these luminaries, Ms. Lovely also pays tribute to other icons of the genre including Big Mama Thornton, Willie Dixon and Betty James.

Ashland June 2010
I had the surprising pleasure of being invited into a "Blues Night" at a local Ashland Club we were visiting...and the most Amazing, Beautiful Lady with the best voice I haveever heard sang us these outrageous songs and I had the time of my life! Thank you Karen! You are absolutely amazing! Because of you I think I will be attending my first Britt Festival in Oregon! Awesome! Don't ever quit!

This Woman is on the fast track to stardom, mark my humble 'huge fan' words! It's rare to have a voice like this one and she's got it... I'm dead serious... not many have what Karen has. I highly recommend this CD.

Shooting Blues Star !!!
I was deeply moved as I watched Karens rhythmic style as she preformed live in Medford, OR. Without a seat left in the house, she took control of our eyes and ears, her unique style of Rhythm and Blues brought us back to the days of Janis Joplin. I must honestly add she more than out preformed Janis. Her unique sounding voice with its intensive power penetrates your soul. Karens music is exemplified by her awesome sounding musicians. Karen Lovely is a true professional on her way to becoming a Blues Star. I purchased her new C.D. and just love listening to her voice, cant wait for her next release. Karen your the best ..........she is a must see!
