Kaross is a band from Skövde/Falköping in Sweden. They play some kind of distorted rock ´n´ roll with influences from punk, metal, blues, 70´s rock and so on. Kind of a mixture of a lot of genres, the best thing is to listen and judge for yourself.
Kaross was formed in 2001. Over the years they have replaced a number of members, but since 2004 the members consists of Mikael Berggren, bass, Magnus Knutas, vocals, Markus Neuendorf, drums and Fredrik Lösnitz, guitar. They have played around 50 gigs over the years. In december 2005 they won the respected music contest "Partillerocken" in Partille, outside Gothenburg, Sweden. They competed with about 40 bands.
The jury of the contest, which contains respected persons in the music business, were all agreed on making Kaross the winners, with the motivation; "A great singing voice, great songs and would love to see an album be released".
That´s just what will happen! A couple of months before they won the competition, Markus Östmark of Eastground Records listened to a demo from the band, and got totally blown away of what he heard. He didn´t get surprised when they won. This resulted in taking contact with the band and a record deal got signed between the parts in spring 2006.
During 2006 their debut album "Molossus" has been recorded. Some final touches, mixing and mastering has been made in 2007. A total of 13 tracks can be found on their debut album which is released on April 30th 2007. From that date on a new exciting journey for Kaross will be started.
