ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Kathy Yolanda Rice was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, where her passion for music and art was recognized at an early age. She studied piano at age 6 and began formal voice training at age 12. After graduating from Alabama A & M University in Music, she began a parallel career in the federal government, which led to her living and singing in New York, Texas, Arizona and California. When Kathy returned home to Huntsville, AL, she embarked on a recording project with Record Producer, Kelvin Wooten. Kathy is a gifted vocalist with a unique style of her own. Fast becoming a sought after singer/songwriter, Kathy is capturing the hearts of many with her precious voice and original compositions. Her music tells real-life stories of love, faith and hope. Love is Like a Sunny Day is Kathy's latest new smooth jazz single, co-written with associate Gary Swann, produced by Kelvin Wooten, and features Kelley O'Neal on saxaphone. Kathy is also featured in a vocal performance on Marc Lacy's spoken word EP: Narcoleptic. She is a featured artist on the Women in Jazz South Florida Compilation CD, Volume III and on the Bobby Pin Diaries Movie Soundtrack. Her debut CD on Paintbrush Records, entitled, "After All These Years" is seasoned with a flavor of jazz and consists of 10 Contemporary tunes. Kathy's versatility as an artist is shown in her 2010 Soulful House project entitled, "Feeling the Heat" with world renown House music record producers Fabio Tosti and Francesco Tarantini on Music Plan Records out of Bari, Italy.
