by Katzen Kapell

Floats towards the unexpected. Evokes inhabited and desolate landscapes, forest and desert. The rich blend of sonority and colour. The beauty of sounds, picked from the innumerable traditions in the world. Astonishing, refreshing; a concrete flower.

Album Notes
Katzen Kapell´s fourth album is instrumental.
There are some vocals but no lyrics.
The compositions are like short stories.

Catharina Backman - accordion, voice
Eva Lindal - violin
Magnus Andersson Lagerqvist - grand piano, organ and voice
Kjell Nordeson - marimba, vibraphone, bongos
Erik Hammarström - drums, percussion and glockenspiel
Peter Janson - double bass

\"A great work, a step further in the direction of the previous marvellous \"Si tu veux\", with jazz roots, folk and eastern influences. A tango feeling pervades the whole cd, some fine avant solution in the harmony, an orchestral approach and great arrangements. A must have.\"

I didn't know that tango could be so capriciously seducefull - but then again i guess that this is not our average Friday night Ballroom-danceband ..... unfortunally . Humor does still belong in music .
