Kahikina
I came to several revelations about my heritage and the Hawaiian culture listening to this album. My father was one of the silent Hawaiians who suffered when it was not ok to be Hawaiian. Through listening to Over the Rainbow, I found my "ku'u wa" my place as Walt calls it. I was surprised when I first met him that he is so young because his voice sounds like an old soul - just like Uncle Moe. You won't be disappointed if you buy this special album. Aloha, Jeannine

I liked it. I have a lot of Hawaiian music and this piece fits in well. He does some talking like IZ in Facing Future. There is variety here and it is good.

What I like along with the music is the stories and how the songs came to the albumn. The mellow voice and collection of songs certainly a great treasure of the liniage

Fresh but familiar voice
I loved the variety and spirituality of this wonderful album. It brings the magic of the islands to those of us stuck on the mainland!

When my husband Peter and I first played this wonderful cd, tears came. My husband has non-alzheimer dementia and his communication is limited but he responded immediately to the music. We play it daily and it runs through my own head as I work. There is real beauty and healing in the sound. Thank you from deepest heart for this amazing music. Blessings of the Three be on you! Sedimentary!
Walt Keale lays it down pahoehoe in a vein that is old, fresh, linguistic, and rhythmic. I bought this for a friend and haven't been able to let it go yet. This is Hawaiian at its root and 21st century perspective. If you can catch Walt in concert solo or with Kaukahi, do it. It might reawaken some smoldering connection with the aina you had forgotten. Plows deep, sets seeds. Beautiful graphics. Aloha.
