Handle With Care

by Kelly Jones

Handle With Care (2006) is my 2nd album. At the time when I’d recorded this, I’d been living in NYC for a few years and had started to feel the influence of the music going on around me. A lot of it was melancholy in sound and in theme… and a lot of it.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Handle With Care (2006) is my 2nd album. At the time when I’d recorded this, I’d been living in NYC for a few years and had started to feel the influence of the music going on around me. A lot of it was melancholy in sound and in theme… and a lot of it still is. Though the songs on this record show evidence of a “singer-songwriter” in the making, it still maintains the sweet naivety that was evident on Brave Heartache. I traveled back to Portland, OR to make this record and had the opportunity to collaborate with some great musician-friends of mine. I’d say these are better “songs” than the songs on BH… but in hindsight I think the sound of this record might have been too diverse. Some disagree…

Gorgeous vocals
I bought this after I heard her sing one Sunday at Park Slope Presbyterian Church, one of the hippest and most artsy churches in Brooklyn. She was simply amazing.

This set of original songs is really interesting. Her lyrics are subtle and deeply moving. The themes and music go very well with her vocals. Her rich, delicate voice reminds me somewhat of Leigh Nash (of Six Pence None the Richer), Dido, and Theresa Anderssen, and is every bit as good.

This is a really solid set. I'm looking forward to her next albums.

GO KELLY!!!!
Kelly, i have always loved your music even before you had a CD and we always said that you'd make it as an artist, and look at you now, 2 awesome CD's! You were always one of the brightest people i know, and always were able to make me smile. Keep up the good work, Kelly. I'll be praying for you. Just remember God is with you, and don't let religion blind you
