Absolutely Beautiful
Keri Latimer has created the most hauntingly beautiful solo album! I am a huge fan of her band Nathan and was very excited to find out she was putting out a solo album. I was not disappointed! This album is full of the most gorgeous lyrics and beautiful melodies. Keri's sound is so unique. The emotion in this album just pulls you in and Keri's voice keeps a hold on you. I cannot stop listening!

A must have for Keri fans or anyone!
I first heard Keri's band, Nathan, at the Calgary Folk Music Festival back in 2007. They quickly became a family favourite. Since then we have acquired everything we could get our hands on from Keri, including her CD by Special Fancy and the blu-ray movie Frozen River for it's closing credits. That movie contains an AMAZING song. You should get that too! (Keri, why was this not a bonus track on this CD???)
Wanting to write this review, I started playing these tracks on my iPod to give it another quick listen before writing. Well, that was four days ago and it has been playing continuously since then. I would say I am easily at my 8th pass through and have no desire to put something else on.
I had the rare privilege of hearing a few tracks from this CD before its release when Keri made a rare appearance outside of Manitoba last year. Hearing how beautiful those songs were, I could not wait for this album to be released. I began scouring the internet almost daily waiting to hear of a release date. Occassionally Keri would release another track demo early, or some other snippet on youtube. Amazingly each song was as good as the previous. Finally a release date came, and I bought it here at CDBaby immediately. Well, to my amazement, every track was as good as the one before. That sweet, sweet voice can do no wrong! I'm getting a toothache! 10 amazing tracks, now playing on an endless loop on my iPod - I could not be happier!
Keri is very free with her music. You can find many of her tunes to listen to online at no cost, but PLEASE support this wonderful artist and buy this CD! Then beg her to tour! (Bring the kids, Keri. We don't care!) Live, she is charming and has an excellent sense of humor.
As I listen now, I'm hearing her sing "You have lines cast in waters surrounding my heart, dollars for spending and loves tender touch. You have answers for questions not known that I have, helping themselves to whatever I hold dear." Amazing! And here comes the Theremin... I need a minute...
Okay, before you accuse me of being paid by Keri to write this, I'll give you one critisism. My least favourite track is "Liquidation Sale". It's a little too bouncy for me. That being said, I just realized that while it is playing in my ear right now my leg is bouncing away merrily. So that's not much of a critisism.
Keeping making music Keri! You have a gift!
