ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"The ten tracks on Return to Lakefront offer up 46 minutes of likable unpretentious new age music which contain elements of pop, jazz, and adult contemporary as well. The album has no subtext, no message, or no deep layer that needs to be unlocked, instead giving the listener breezy tunes with infectious beats and lots of "sunny day" attitude. The wonderful closing number, 'Sunset' may be the best thing KevOz has recorded up to this date. I certainly recommend Return to Lakefront for its friendly nature and easygoing charm." -- Bill Binkelman, Zone Music Reporter

Great for yoga or just plain relaxing...
Nice melodies and chord progressions, and the propulsive drums in 'Message In a Bottle' and 'Sunset' really help drive the songs along. I also liked how the artist mixed in some thunderstorm sounds in the 'In Between Rain' cut, very cool. I'd suggest this CD to anyone who likes yoga music that's a little different from the norm.

Sets a great mood
This album had me thinking nostalgic thoughts and fond memories. Great for kicking back and takin' it easy. Hope the artist puts together more music like this.

Pleasing melodies and emotional warmth
This guy knows how to turn out lovely melodies. One of my favourites is "Message in a Bottle" where a drumming rhythm keeps the pace, a harpsichord kind of sound delivers an uplifting melody and soaring chords with a quivering edge add further drama. Of the introspective ones "Sands of Time" stands out. A springy and airy easygoing rhythm leads into a contemplative piano section. There's no doubting the pleasing melodies and emotional warmth running through the album.

His best effort so far and consistently enjoyable
The ten tracks on Return to Lakefront offer up 46 minutes of likable unpretentious new age music which contain elements of pop, jazz, and adult contemporary as well. The album has no subtext, no message, or no deep layer that needs to be unlocked, instead giving the listener breezy tunes with infectious beats and lots of "sunny day" attitude. My personal faves include: the bouncy "Change of Season" with percolating drum rhythms, pleasant bell tones, some discrete piano, and a fluid lead synth solo, all creating the sensation of driving down a sun-drenched highway; "Lighthouse" which starts off in an ambient vein but becomes a jaunty even jazzy piano and synth piece; "Memory Drift", a track that hews closer to EM/fusion than others here, what with its abundance of synth washes (some having a Berlin-esque flavor to them) and slow tempo drums; and the wonderful closing number, "Sunset" which may be the best thing Osborn has recorded up to this date. It's a slowly building dynamic exuberant song with an undeniable joyfulness running through it, as a piano refrain is joined by one synth after another, as well as some nicely muted tom-toms. It's an excellent closing cut. Overall, I certainly recommend Return to Lakefront for its friendly nature and easygoing charm.

Very relaxing, and the track "Sunset" is fantastic!
I decided to purchase this CD after downloading a couple tracks on iTunes - and I'm very happy I did! I especially like the closing cut "Sunset", and the title track also. This is cool instrumental music that's definitely NOT boring. Great stuff!

Tranquil, reflective, and even uplifting :)
The song Memory Drift is really neat - kinda like a musical daydream. :) I'm very happy with the purchase of this CD - hope the artist makes more music like this in the future.
