Kelli Grant
the Queen of Swing™

This just in: Kelli has received notice from L.A. that the Song & CD are on the list in 4 categories for consideration for a Grammy Nomination. THIS IS NOT A NOMINATION however, if you not on the list you can NOT get a nomination. This means that the CD has been deemed eligible and has been entered for the voting members to decide as to who the 5 nominees will be. Keep your fingers crossed.

* Please remember that a percentage of the CD sales are being donated to the states litter campaign & The Texas Music Project *

Chuck Conrad of KZQX radio states, "YOUR, "Don't Mess With Texas" is the GOLD STANDARD as far as I am concerned."

Kelli's career began with a self-title double CD release thru Warner Bros. German affiliate, Eagle Records. Half country originals and half pop classics, “jazz” standards, the CD topped the European charts at #4 in Belgium and #7 in Holland.

With much praise coming out of Austin, The Texas Department of Transportation issued a special license for the use of their logo, a first for TxDot. for her CD, "Don't Mess With Texas."
Once again showcasing Kelli's award winning songwriting talents, 7 of the 12 cut country and a little Western Swing songlist are Kelli's own. The title cut, "Don't Mess With Texas", is a colorful and descriptive compliment to the sights and sounds of TEXAS. Talking about sounds, and to add just a little more authenticity to the recording, we enlisted the talents of a few former Texas Playboys. Band members that actually recorded and traveled the country with the man himself, Texas Swing legend and innovator, the King of Western Swing, Mr. Bob Wills.
A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Texas Department of Transportation in support of the states litter campaign and the Texas Music Project.
Former Texas Playboys on the title cut are:
* Johnny Patterson- Lead Guitar, Texas Playboy '62-'63
* Casey Dickens - Drums, Texas Playboy '59-'63
* Albert Talley - Steel Guitar, Texas Playboy '64-'66
* "Little Red" Hayes - Fiddle, Hank Thompson & the
Brazos Valley Boys
CD Musicians:
* Kelli Grant - Lead/Harmony Vocals / Bass / Piano
* Randy Prince - Lead Guitar
* Bill Cobb - keyboards
* Bob White - Steel Guitar & Dobro
* J. B. Vann - Steel Guitar
* Jeff Ebner - Drums

Being from Texas and the Queen of Swing, it was only natural for Kelli to record a tribute album to the Texas Swing legend. Due in part to the success of her CD, “Swing Like That” which featured several of Bob's former bandmembers, Kelli was inducted into the Western Swing Hall of Fame, Seattle, Wa. Review comments by Mike Gross, WVOF-FM states,
"... a talented vocalist who can swing as good as
anyone since perhaps that same, Bob Wills."
Swing legend, Cliff Bruner exclaimed,
"alittle lady loaded with lots of talent."

Kelli is a 2 time Nominee for the Will Rogers Award, by the Academy of Western Artist - category, Western Swing Female Artist.

NOMINATED by her piers for TEXAS STATE MUSICIAN, is one of her highest compliments.
The Swing Queens' performance is sponsored by the Mid-America Arts Alliancetouring roster(http://www.maaa.org/rtp/artists/)in seven states as well as the Mid-Atlantic Arts International touring roster, with co-funding by the National Endowment for the Arts and is a highly respected individual in the music business.
Her highly acclaimed show, "Swingin' the Blues" was designed as a clever way to showcase her chart topping CD's and award winning songwriting talent. Working off a very diverse catalog of music, the Queen, "swings" the audience down a musical highway of Blues, Jazz & Swing from New Orleans to New York City, Chicago to Kansas City, Memphis to Texas demonstrating swings evolution to a musical revolution, Rock 'n Roll. Ms. Grant has been recognized, listed and charted in a variety of musical genre's including:
R&B, Blues, Swing (all styles) & Pop.

This “Piano Poundin’, Rhythm Rockin’, Bass Kickin’” showman was publicly declared, "an exceptional entertainer" by Performing Arts Musical Director. Labeled "The Queen of Swing" by R&B legend, Carl Perkins for her unique yet awesome piano style. A pulse driving rhythm, gyrating leads coupled with an unsurpassed walking left handed bassline, THAT IS ALL LIVE, Kelli's signature style “swings” in the truest definition of the word confirming her as the one & only,
the Queen of Swing™.

Ms. Grant has been once again been honored by being included in Who's Who Entertainment Registry, 2007/2008, registered with Washington, D.C. Library of Congress.

"Softer Side of Swing" - crossing boundaries due to Kelli's music education and love of all kinds of music, the CD has received high praises from music lovers in a variety of genres'.
Produced by Mickey Moody, formerly of ABC-DOT records, Mickey has received numerous awards having engineered 17 albums for Freddy Fender. "An enjoyable product to work on as well as listen to. Kelli does a magnificent job," Mickey states. The lead singles or, push songs from the CD are; “PRETEND” and “IF YOU WERE THE ONE.” Kelli has been recognized more than once for her songwriting talents. “If You Were the One,” is a riveting and passionate original that Kelli's raw, and somewhat erotic vocals arouse the deepest emotions of ones heart and soul. A storyline about the one true love everyone dreams about til the morning sun blocks out the night. A torch ballad that captures the attention of everyone in the music industry.

Having received an "Honorable Mention" from Billboard for her R&B original, "The Way Love Use to Be". Kelli has been consistently recognized in the "blues". With her credentials in R&B and blues growing, this award winning songwriter began writing and focusing on the diverse styles and formats of the blues.

The “Blues to Me!“ CD is one of the most comprehensive collections demonstration the diverse styles and formats of "Blues": Jump blues, Swing blues, Western Swing blues, Country blues, Rhythm&Blues, and her own low down dirty nasty SOUNDING pure blues. Her patriotic hit,
"Stand Up for the U.S.A.“ was written several years before the obscene act of September 11th, 2001, as a gift for her father who had served in the Navy aboard the USS Core. Kelli felt it was only natural to include it on the CD, considering Setptember 11th, to be one of the “bluest” days in America’s history, It is respectfully placed at #11 to honor the victims and families of September 11, 2001 …we will always remember.
…proclaimed the unofficial anthem of the 21st Century by Mike Gross, WVOF, Connecticut.

Dancing music
Music the way it is supposed to played by a lady who lives and breathes the blues and swing. Having jammed and visited with this lady several times I know what her goals are and where she is headed.
