The King William Jazz Collective is a "Little Big Band" comprised of 4 reeds, 4 brass, 4 rhythm and a singer. This group performs fresh arrangements of classic jazz tunes and songs from the American songbook. Only four years ago, the band played its first gig in San Antonio’s historic King William district. The group’s name fell into place because Bill King (William King) was the music director.
King William Jazz Collective played numerous local concerts and jazz festivals. Among these, the band opened San Antonio’s “Year in Jazz” in 2012 with the world premiere of "The San Antonio Suite" by Aaron Prado, and closed the year with an encore performance.
