Lakewood Dogs

by Lakewood Dogs

This album is a tip of the hat to classic rock with a modern twist. Bluesy crunchy tones on a bed of infectious rhythms. Catchy - eclectic - party rock.

Album Notes
“I'm really enjoying the "Lakewood Dogs" disc. I smiled all the way through it. So good to hear you guys!”
- Jack Sundrud, Singer/Songwriter and Poco member

Lakewood Dogs is an unique lineup…a three piece band with two brothers switching between drums and guitar while their best friend Jon holds down the bass. All three sing lead and background vocals. Mike doubles on keyboards. Mike, Nick and Jon have known each other since first grade. During the early years they played together in several bands, most notably the “Nitro Brothers”, a high energy act that released two albums, an EP and a single.
A reunion concert ignited the desire to play again. They called the new band “Lakewood Dogs” after the wild pack that roamed the neighborhood they grew up in.
The tracks were recorded primarily at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, under the guidance of “Chopper Black”. The Dogs recorded with Chopper during their “Nitro Brothers” days. They took the McNally tracks home to their own GroundZero studio to complete the recording and mixing.
The Dogs’ sense of fun and playfulness can be readily heard in the music.
