ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Lance Lynke SC is a musical project started in the fall of 2006 by Nashville based singer/songwriter James Roberts ( aka. Lans Lynke SC ) Originally from Southern Illinois, some of James' earliest musical influnces were from listening to an AM radio station out of St Louis MO. , which played all types of music; from Pop, to Motown, to Rock, to Country, to Folk, to Novelty songs. James has been around long enough to remember the older adolescent girls in his hometown buying Beatles trading cards at the local bus stop/convenience store. These cards were similar to the baseball cards and bubble gum that young sports fans collected and traded. James started playing the guitar probably a bit later than most musicians. His most immediate influence at this point was The Eagles. In fact the first 15 songs that he learned to play and sing were all from the Eagles catalog( pre-J. Walsh/T.B. Schimdt as well as after they joined the group ) After playing the guitar and writing/singing for many years, and living in a variety of geographic locations,James decided that to have even a remote chance of being successful with the material, he needed to live in a city such as Austin or Nashville. After spending some time in Austin, James ended up in Nashville in the fall of 2000.His initial intent was to have demos made of the very few country songs that he had written. As well as to try and solicit them to the country music market.Needless to say that almost everyone and their brother in Music City has the same idea. So after some serious consideration, James decided that to really get anything done;he would have to sing and record his own material.Upon researching different recording studios, their personell, their techniques,as well as the recording process itself,James was fortunate enough to come in contact with Paul Gannon, who owns and operates Big Ears Studio.Pauls knowledge and experience as an individual and in the studio, and his ability to network with many excellent musicains, were the main ingredients in the coordination of musical styles and sounds that compliment James' songwriting and vocals on this album. Also Paul Gannons skills as a veteran musician himself, contributed to his abilities as a studio engineer in the mixing of the material. www.bigearsstudio.net
