ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
La Sonora Express was founded in 2007 under the concern of a group of musicians associated with the movement Venezuelan Latin, Johnny Gomez, rhumer Mora and Oscar "Chucky" Cordero. The main idea is based on rescuing the origins of the Son, the beginning and moves with a fresh new concept and respect, above all, the patterns of the time. As we all know, are original instruments were the three, the bongos, maracas, and the key was usually performed by the singer and finally marímbula or jar that over time was replaced by the bass. We wanted to focus our ideas are taking the example that was played in the forties, they are specifically interpreted the Sonora Matancera, characteristic because at that time occurred the first transformation of the Son, added two trumpets, congas and piano. In this way are, three runs in a different style, the piano made “montunos” while the trumpets improvise influenced of American swing. The Son is, without doubt, the musical genre that has influenced the Salsa, in the instrumental format and structure of this musical. The influences of “La Sonora Express” are extensive, are trying to bring modernism have been inspired by great musicians and orchestras such as: Oscar Hernández and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Papo Lucca and La Sonora Ponceña, Willie Rosario, Johnny Rivera, Oscar D ' Leon, Johnny Pacheco, Benny Moré, Pio Leiva, La Sonora Matancera, and so on. The existing musical combination that gives the characteristic color Sonora, with this combination irresistible to the feet of the dancer. In this first album we wanted to externalize this mixture of ideas, this feeling for our Latin music, a passion for and are especially wanted to merge these features with modern music has taken. We hope in the name of La Sonora Express and all the people who made this project a reality they can enjoy this musical work has been done with sacrifice and love. God Bless. and enjoy the great dancers and Salsa lovers are called! ...
