ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
After releasing her full length debut 'A Strange and Beautiful Trip' over two years ago, Laura has come back more mature in her writing and more deliberate in her delivery.

'ElePhant' is the first release with her full band. This endearing follow-up to the self-recorded 'A Strange and Beautiful Trip' shows a more intimate side to Laura's music. Though all six songs are written by Laura, the other musicians featured on this cd (Ken Crawn-drums, Aurelie Shapiro-cello, Geoff Gill-bass, Sean Jackson-synthesizers, additional piano and percussion) bring the songs to a higher level and manage to gently surround the hushed vocals and minimalistic guitar without becoming too overpowering.

With this new release, Laura invites the listener to sit beside her, whether at the piano, or guitar in hand, and it's as though she's speaking directly. There is an underlying tone of acceptance throughout, and it is cleverly delivered in both haunting melodies like 'Rapunzel' and more quirky tunes like 'Something More'.

This short collection of songs will surely leave you wanting more.
