Old Weather

by Laura Dunn and the Ghosts of Xmas Past

Laura Dunn and the Ghosts of Xmas Past combine banjo-driven folk music with toy pianos, opera singers and rattling chains. They sound like Emmylou Harris singing in a haunted house.

an artist to watch
Laura Dunn continues to amaze me with her poetic ways. She is inspired and a bit unusual, keep an eye on this one!

shadows won't blow the wind away
incredible writing, incredibly arranged. if you don't buy the whole album, i suggest "birthday suit" and "a book in the wind" for easier access.

Magical, spooky folkloric melodies with haunted poetry
I love this album! The songwriting is original and unique to our time, not to mention the powerful and touching lyrical content Laura Dunn infuses into it, which is no surprise since she received her Master's in Poetry. I highly recommend this album. Laura Dunn is a modern age Joan Baez mixed with a little Bjork eccentricity and Northwest winter mist. For fans of minor keys.
