Album Notes
The Power of the Pelvis is a 2 CD Workshop designed to activate and enliven your vital center. Athletes, martial artists and performing artists rely on the power of the pelvis for peak performance. It is the source of spontaneity and joy, as well as the seat of challenge for anyone who has had an injury, illness or trauma that has compromised pelvic mobility.

These Awareness Through Movement® lessons were developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, who spent over 40 years researching movement, learning systems and neuroplasticity. Dr. Andrew Weil has called the Feldenkrais Method® “more effective than physical therapy.” The lessons in this workshop have been chosen for their ease, effectiveness and ability to integrate the function of the pelvis into daily activities. This CD is for anyone looking for greater ease of movement, increased vitality, and a better understanding of the pelvis’ role in a satisfying life.

Lavinia Plonka, GCFP is an internationally renowned Feldenkrais Teacher and Workshop leader. She is known for her creative and clear interpretations of Feldenkrais teaching. Lavinia brings over 30 years of movement experience and research to her workshops. She is the author of several books: What Are You Afraid Of? A Body/Mind Guide to Courageous Living, Walking Your Talk: Changing Your Life Through the Magic of Body Language and Playing in the Kitchen: Recipes, Stories and Explorations for the Whole Self. She has two other CDs: Have a Comfortable Flight: Simple Exercises You Can Do in and Airplane Seat and Unstress Through Movement. Lavinia is director of Asheville Movement Center in NC.
