ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hey Day twists and turns through 10 songs restlessly, shifting with the growing tree of rock-and-roll. Though Reynolds influences are often obvious, while not clumsily rendered. Instead, Reynolds and company are found swinging riotously from the aging branches, pausing only to carve their unpretentious, no-frills take on 70’s pop-rock into its trunk — dutifully leaving traces all their own. As usual, the wit behind Reynolds songwriting is impressive enough, but when paired as it is here with just the appropriate amount of musical homage to the ghosts of great rockers past, his songs then shine as a brilliant and sincere musical statement from one of Austin’s most talented songwriters.---tapebombs.com
