"LEE NEGIN brilliantly defines a musical realm that is his alone. He effortlessly forges through the uncharted waters of musical Zen and cleverly orchestrates sound into a vibrant, visceral experience. Mr. Negin is a savvy magician welding a maestro's baton, a mystical boatman guiding the listener on an epic journey through undiscovered sonic terrain. "
- Lee Crisman, Pluto Radio
"Lee Negin is an eccentric genius. Not content with just (!) being a university professor and a globe-trotting life – Negin has lived in Japan, India, UK, Poland and, currently, South Korea, since leaving America 22 years ago – he has spent over three decades producing experimental music to the point of (near) perfection."
- Clive Rozario, AAA Music
Lee Negin is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and recording engineer. A prolific composer and videographer, he started recording and releasing his work in the late 1970’s, and was involved in the international Indie/Techno/New Wave movement of the 1980’s (he is listed as an influential musician in "The International Discography of the New Wave"-- edited by B. George and Martha Defoe (Omnibus Press). His music received international airplay, including by the highly influential John Peel at BBC Radio, and he collaborated with the founders of the Detroit Techno scene.
Returning to recording after an extended hiatus (the release of the CD “Balance” in 1994), his classic techno track “Nothing Goes Right” (1981) was re-released on a compilation from Berlin based Genetic Music in 2010. Since then, Lee has released several videos and recordings. In January 2011, an EP of video soundtracks was released; in February, the CD, “Hungry Ghosts,” which was selected by Dandelion Radio (UK) as one of the top 50 albums of 2011 (#32). In September, a track, “Without Reason” appeared on a compilation from Daidalos Records (Chile), and a new CD of ambient/electronica/experimental/work, “Wu Wei” was released on the 26th. Both “Hungry Ghosts” and “Wu Wei” were mastered in London by Jon Astley (The Who, Led Zeppelin, George Harrison, David Bowie, etc.). In December, Negin released the CD “Reflections of Waking Dreams.”
In June 2012, Negin released a new album, “Technodelic Transmissions.” His latest, "Voices from the Outer Rim" is a collection of ambient-electronica-experimental dreamscapes, to be released on 19 September, 2012. He currently has 20+ critically acclaimed videos on his Youtube channel.
2012 will see the release of several CDs, videos, collaborations and a solo tour of Europe and some Asian cities. Originally from the USA, Negin has lived in India, Japan (15 years), the UK, Poland, and for the past 6 years, in Seoul, Korea.
