ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
LeRoy Mack McNees
In 1959 LeRoy became the Dobro playing member of the “Country Boys” who went on to be the” Kentucky Colonels”. This Los Angeles based bluegrass band was the first to appear on the Andy Griffith show in 1961( episode 19 Mayberry on record.) LeRoy left the group in 1964 and cofounded “The Born Again Bluegrass band” who were together for 31 years. After this group disbanded 1997LeRoy started doing solo work and setting in with some of the finest bands the USA and Canada.
LeRoy and his wife Janice share in hosting chapel services at many music venues across the country. They also enjoying working with habitat for humanity building homes for financially disadvantaged people.
LeRoy has a keen sense of humor and loves to share a good story or a funny song or two in his performances. He also sings some heartfelt songs that you might just need a tissue handy for. LeRoy’s performance philosophy is make them laugh, make them cry, or make them set on the edge of their seat, but make them do something.
This solo album “Stories” is LeRoy’s sixth and reflects his philosophy quite clearly in the songs he has written and those he has collected from various sources for this album.
So put in the disc turn up the volume and enjoy the music of LeRoy Mack and the stellar group of musicians that he has assembled for this album.
