Album Notes
Singer-songwriter Lesley Young is originally from Toronto, Canada. The title track of Lesley's second indie album, Inside '07, was a finalist in both folk and pop categories in three international song competitions: Song Of The Year, Songwriter's Universe Competitions. It was also chosen as the 2nd place winner in the 100% Music Competition of France. She named it her 'women's song.' Jezebel, on the same album, was finalist in the folk category for The Great American Song Contest. This track includes a mournful lap-steel performance by guitarist Kurt Swinghammer. Five of the songs for her album Inside were licensed by FreePlay music licensing company, in New York, New York. "She is a master songwriter who is a craftsman with words. She delivers her messages through a voice somewhat reminiscent of Shawn Colvin - strong, beautiful, and distinctively feminine." - wrote Radio Indie in '07. After receiving favorable reviews for her second album Inside, Lesley was invited to showcase at Jeff Healy's Roadhouse by veteran bluesman Danny Marks, the radio host for BLUZ.FM on Toronto's premier Jazz FM radio station 91.1. It also received favorable response from James Lowe, of legendary psychedelic rockers, The Electric Prunes. "Enjoying your CD . . .impressive. . . sounds bad, meaning very good." James Lowe went on to air her music on weekly VIVA radio show, in California. The lyrics for Lesley's touching ballad "Deschenes Avenue" and her personal recollections of summers in the Woodroffe area of Ottawa at her grandmother's house, were published in the Canadian local history project, River, Road & Rail - Woodroffe North Bicentennial Memories - New Local History Book '11. "Deschenes Avenue" was written as part of an international songwriting event called Song-Along. Songwriters were asked to write on one of three themes and then perform their songs live. Written from the theme front porch, "Deschenes Avenue" was dedicated to her grandmother, who had passed away during the mixing of the Inside album (Producer - Lesley Young, Executive Producer - John McKay-Clements, mixed with Juno Award winning producer/engineer, David-Travers Smith). A new album that was recorded in Edinburgh, Scotland is in the works and will be released later this year. www.lesleyyoung.com for more.

Excellent acoustic pop CD. Pick up a copy today!
"Inside" is a new folk/pop CD by singer/songwriter Leslie Young. "Inside" highlights Ms. Young's talents on many levels. She is a master songwriter who is a craftsman with words. She delivers her messages through a voice somewhat reminiscent of Shawn Colvin - strong, beautiful, and distinctively feminine. Add to that her creative use of the guitar and fine recording and production quality, and "Inside" is definitely a winner! Strong tunes include the title track, the almost-country "Jezebel", and the psychedelic "Wait Until Darkness Comes." We love the complex guitar harmonies and creative vocal mixing in "Deschenes Avenue." "Inside" is a soothing journey
for the heart....acoustic and folk/pop fans will love this CD!
