ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Imagine ... the beat of the drum ... its pulse ... steady ... driving ... The music begins ... filling every space. Your heart beats faster and faster ... the blood racing through each vein. The mood is peaceful, but yet vibrant. Then ... the voice ... its energy, the passion, the desire to be heard ... speaks dramatically ... in the form of a melody. It fills your entire being ... and ethereally reaches into your human spirit ...

Leslie Bowe.

Of Cherokee, Native American descent, Leslie Bowe's roots lie in the motivation of the human spirit. His need to interact with others is what motivates and drives Leslie Bowe. It is not just shown in his recordings, but through his live performances.

As an award-winning singer, songwriter, producer and musician, Leslie Bowe has become an established name in the Pittsburgh music scene. His career spans over eighteen years, and includes many different genres of music ranging from pop - R&B - reggae.

Leslie began his career with KIBO, an original pop/R&B band, from which he moved on to dueling pianos and other Top 40 projects. Originally a part-time performer at various piano bars, Leslie was quickly recruited to play at Tutti's in Shadyside and Sandcastle Water Park. Leslie became introduced to the reggae sound when he joined The Flow Band as the keyboardist/vocalist. The band had a great blend of musical talent, and won numerous awards for its outstanding reggae performances.

While performing with The Flow Band, Leslie continued to write and produce his own work. His solo debut Adult Contemporary album "Wings of Your Dreams" was awarded "Best Local Recording" by In Pittsburgh/City Paper magazine in 1994. Leslie was also recognized for his musicianship by receiving several awards such as, "Best Reggae Vocalist" and "Best Reggae Musician". In 1997 Leslie co-founded The Freedom Band. His prospecting, networking, website development and leadership abilities have helped to take The Freedom Band from obscurity to the winner of Sheridan Broadcasting's "Best Reggae Performer" award in 1998, 1999, and again in 2002.

Early this year, Leslie decided to go back into the studio to complete his long over due and anticipated second album to be entitled, "Through My Eyes". This project will show the deeper, more introspective side of Leslie as it relates to the human spirit, passion, love and politics. The album is scheduled for a Pittsburgh release some time in the summer of 2004.

Pittsburgh has come to know Leslie Bowe, the singer, the songwriter, the performer, now the rest of the country and world should hear what he has to say.

His voice says it all ... just listen ...
