Album Notes
The Kentucky-based LETHAL was founded by vocalist Tom Mallicoat and the Cook brothers, Eric and Glen (guitar and bass, respectively). In 1990, after the arrival of drummer Jerry Hartman, Metal Blade Records released their debut album, Programmed, which was instantly proclaimed a progressive/power metal classic the world over.

In 1994, LETHAL independently released Your Favorite God, a 5-song EP (featuring new guitarist David McElfresh) which immediately sold out. Your Favorite God showed LETHAL going in a heavier direction, with such outstanding songs as "Waiting On The Kill" and "Hard To Breathe."

LETHAL’s last release Poison Seed, set new standards for which all future progressive metal bands will be judged. LETHAL is destined to take their place among rock's elite with the sheer musical brilliance of Poison Seed, featuring "Down," "Walking Wounded," and the title track.

Lethal-Poison Seed
I highly recommend this album. They are an incredibly technical and proficient band, while still retaining that sheer headbanging power of bands like Pantera. Mallicoat has an incredible voice, able to hit a phenomnal range of notes without being too "operatic"--he can blow you away on the high notes, but you can still feel the emotional content of what he's singing. Eric Cook and Dave McElfresh will give any guitar duo a run for their money. And Glen Cook on bass is just plain wicked. This is their third offering after "Programmed" and "Your Favorite God", and they keep getting better with each release. Here's hoping they put together another album soon.
