ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is the debut, self-titled album by Light In Cages, the alternate rock project created by acclaimed South African musician Rowan Stuart. The album is best described as an Grand, Experimental, Alternate Rock journey, and pays homage to the progressive spirit of groups such as Soundgarden, Radiohead, Silversun Pickups and Muse.

Light In Cages bursts forth with grand, Smashing Pumpkins-esque guitars, unpredictable, groove-laden bass, and lightning-charged drumming, as it artfully shifts between moments of rock grandeur and moments of eerie beauty. All the while, the distinctive vocals – sometimes angsty, sometimes serene – lead the way on a journey through light and darkness.
