Limboski: “Tribute to Georgie Buck”
This album is a tribute to the great bluesmen of Mississippi, not only those who wrote the songs included here, but also the unknown authors of traditional songs and unknown artists lost somewhere out there… The legends, stories, melodies and rhythms of these old blues and folk songs are the inspiration for musicians from all countries and cultures. They have been an inspiration for me, too, and they will always come back to me in melancholy times. God bless you, my old friends. I hope we will meet someday and talk about old times and how we were trying to cheat the Devil.
Michał Augustyniak aka Limboski
“Tribute to Georgie Buck” is an album inspired by pre-war blues and folk music. Robert Johnson, Skip James and Blind Willie Johnson as well as traditional songs found in the resources of the Library of Congress.
The album was recorded live in a small snowed-in cabin surrounded by forests in the North of Poland... An intriguing place for intriguing Mississippi legends and stories.
The CD is “dedicated” to Georgie Buck, an American folk hero. His name appears in many traditional folk songs. On the album you can find two versions of this song, while the third one will be soon put as a free bonus to download from:
