Album Notes
Liquid Mind VII: Reflection is ideal for Yoga, massage, meditation, anxiety management, and all healing activities. Like the other Liquid Mind albums, this gentle album is used by people everywhere to relieve stress, by parents and teachers to help quiet hyperactive children, by insomniacs to assist themselves in going back to sleep in the middle of a difficult night, and by just about anyone to relieve the stress of a busy day at work. This music was designed originally to assist in anxiety management, and is useful in any setting where anxiety or stress is an issue.

Liquid Mind is the name used by Los Angeles composer and producer Chuck Wild. There are few composers with as much love for slowness in their music as Wild. Chuck draws from classical and pop influences as varying as Beethoven and Brian Eno, Bartok and Rachmaninoff, Bach, Chopin and Fauré, Duruflé and Brahms.

Early live and studio experience with the Capitol Records' group "Missing Persons", and studio work with Frank Zappa, Michael Jackson and many others have helped Chuck to develop high production values. Spending many studio hours over the years with five time Grammy winning engineer Bruce Swedien and famed producer Ken Scott has inspired Chuck to explore unique and subtle gradations of sound and feeling in his music.

Chuck's musical experience spans three decades, including writing 125 songs and compositions used in TV/Film and albums. The Pointer Sisters, Tommy Page, Timothy Leary, Wink, Jennifer Rush, Thelma Houston, Glen Medeiros and Philip Bailey are just some of the artists who have recorded his songs. Wild co-composed music with Michael Hoenig for the Emmy (TM) winning ABC-TV series Max Headroom. In 1992, his first composition for two pianos, Los Angeles Fantasy, was premiered by Zita Carno and Gloria Ching at the Bing Theater in Los Angeles. The same year, Wild co-scored the Academy Award (TM) winning film The Panama Deception. In 1989, he co-wrote (with Marti Sharron) the song "You're My One and Only," #1 hit in Europe for Jennifer Rush. Over the last twenty years, Chuck has lent his studio talents to projects with Michael Jackson, Paula Abdul, Missing Persons, Philip Bailey, Frank Zappa, and many other artists.

"I originally wrote the music of Liquid Mind to help myself, my friends, and family dealing with the anxiety & stress of working long hours, and also for friends and family dealing with the stress of life-threatening illnesses like cancer & HIV. The Liquid Mind albums seem to have an immediate "slowing down" effect on the listener, and may also help some people get to sleep, and relax deeply after a tension-filled day.

The ultimate compliment to me is that people fall asleep to my music. This is functional music, it serves the purpose of assisting us to be tranquil, when that may not be easy in today's world. That is why the compositions are longer than normal, and very slow in tempo. This music is very special to me, it is my labor of love, I hope you enjoy it.

I am a shameless advocate of life in the slow lane. For many years, I worked eighteen or more hours a day, seven days a week. Your body will always exact a toll for such abuse. I started composing slow music to help me find some peace and quiet, to get back in touch with the fact that I am responsible for the pace of my own life, to help me unify body, mind, and spirit."

Relaxing and soothing
Heard this artist in a butterfly conservatory in Key West. Loved it, so went searching when I came home to purchase. Wonderful.

A pleasurable experience from A to Zzzz...
Chuck Wild has made another fantastic record here. Soothing, relaxing, and much more congruent than some of his previous releases. The creation of an album that flows naturally from song to song is a dying art, and I for one am glad to see that Chuck Wild continues to do so.

As an aside, this album also features less of the arpeggiated strings/guitars and extraneous sound effects that permeated Unity.

Liquid Mind is liquid indeed...experience it yourself
You want good stuff?! Liquid Mind is Good Stuff

A Great Fit for Meditation
Fluid. Legato. Free of tedious drones. Especially suitable for the Western ear. Splendidly appropriate for meditation.

The Best
This is the best meditation music ever recorded. It will extract the resentments, fears, and anger right out of your mind and leave you in peace.

Destressing and Wondrous!
As a mountaineer who takes many solo trips, listening to this album presses away any anxiety I have when surrounded by the stark vastness of granite peaks. Also in the evening when it's time to close the day, 'Reflection' aids in lowering my heartrate and calm my breathing for a quick trip to dreamland. Very surreal with a feeling of weightlessness. Love it!

Spectral Purity At It's Best
The music of 'Reflection' carries the listener along with synchronized coverage of the entire spectrum. Chuck plays these as three different players: The upper notes not wandering too far, with steady midtones and Chuck's unique, sustained steady lower notes to keep the songs well grounded throughout. Each of the three personalities calmy working together, slowly but with a static sonic excitement, as one might observe a visual light, frozen in spacetime. Most encouraging in this CD compilation is his belial of predictivity; While we become so used to mentally predicting what the next note or chord will be, from years of looped popular music of all genres, the CD Reflection contains a few nice suprises: It is almost as if Chuck were saying, No..The next note is HERE, and...It is better. See? As to observe the solar system, in perfect and balanced celestial machina, is to listen to Reflection and the previous LM CD releases.
Quite simply, one would be very hard pressed to find ambient superior to this compilation. Five stars. A Must Buy.

Wonderful album, as ever, an absolute must
Another wonderfully relaxing CD from Chuck Wild. If you don't own ALL his albums then any one is a great place to start but this is spectacularly beautiful and restful. There isn't any music more restful than this. It's another example of music that sounds angelic and vast. Its like listening to a sunset in slow motion! If you've not heard Liquid Mind before - go on treat yourself - you'll not regret it!

Another Excellent Collection
This music allows me to relax, to let the stress of the day leave my body and mind, and puts me in a place of quiet reflection and meditation. A must these days for mental, spiritual and physical health. As soon as the first track, "Gently Down" begins, I can actually feel my shoulders lower! Great work once again, Chuck!
