Little Lisa Dixie is a superbly talented musician--equally at home as a vocalist or multi-instrumentalist--and a prolific writer. From the age of seven starting with piano, Lisa's musical proficiency grew to include drums, bass, guitar, and, of course, voice: she's been singing since she could walk, and writing songs incorporating both intimate insights into her personal experience and visions of a life fantastic on the lam from the law or in a dangerous love.
Little Lisa is currently a resident of Austin, TX, and was born and raised outside of Washington DC. Her influences range from Loretta Lynn to Courtney love, Hank Williams to Morrissey, Pantera to Patsy Cline, and, her father: a superbly talented honky tonk guitarist and singer. A popular area performer, Lisa came to the attention of Another Mile Records and first visited The A.M. Record Ranch to record "Cheating Games," a song for an Outlaw Radio compilation disc. The excitement of that session extend into her signing with AMR and development of this project: Lisa's debut full-length CD.
The disc covers a wide gamut of subjects and sonic soundscapes, reflecting a fertile imagination and a unique writing viewpoint. Accompanied by Johnny Allan on guitars and a team of DC musicians excited to be a part of her debut album, Lisa's talents promise to bring a unique voice to the outlaw and alt-country genres that's sure to surprise and entertain.
