ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Keep your eyes on this singer/songwriter. "Fighting Gravity" is a noteworthy debut album from an artist whose musical chops on vocals, violin, and piano are matched only by the consistently high quality of the songwriting on this engaging debut. Here's an artist who writes melodic, introspective pop/rock which manages to sound both radio-ready and intimate at the same time. Great stuff!

Powerful lyrics that you cannot ignore from an incredibly talented musician with
The songs tell me so much about this artist. There is a willingness to expose the truth of her pain. Her voice has a flexibility that allows her to growl out "No Rain" or whisper "Fine Day". I have had my share of personal tragedy and the lyrics of "Fine Day" speaks for me. "The Walking Song" has such an uplifting message and the melody is still in my head. This album is wonderful and doesn't play like a first effort...extremely well produced. I can't wait to hear what she does next.

Love the cd!
I am happy to say I found Diana Lorden just by browsing
CD Baby.com. What a GREAT find!! I hope to see her on tour some day. Crack and Fighting Gravity are my favorite cuts, but I enjoy the entire cd.

Lovely, folky pop
This is a great addition to any singer-songwriter collection. Especially "Fine Day" which reminds me of Jann Arden and "No Rain" are my favourite songs. Diana can really sing and the folky touch to all the songs is what I love about her music.

Chrissy

Emotionally powerful music
Fighting Gravity passess a powerful message of hope to the listener. Only Human speaks directly to me, but every person who has experienced the trials that accompany living a wonderfully imperfect life can find hope and someone to relate to in the songwriting and singing wonders of Diana Lorden.

Terrific cd
This was a great surprise to me, a cd much better than I had expected. The music starts out with a bit of folk country touch and finishes with a taste of jazz. All the music is written, produced and sung at a high performance level. I put this album on late at night and ended up playing it a second time before going to bed. Wish the artist well in her future efforts. Crack, fighting gravity and the walking song are favorites, but i especially like fine day, only human and no rain.

A welcome change from the current 'diva' similitude
Not one song on this CD is derivative. It has a southern, somewhat folk, rock feel that is what modern country can only aspire to be. This is great music!
