Album Notes
Lorenguard is the essence of fantasy, metal and escapism. A band formed on the basic priciples of having fun and entertaining, while maintaining a highly creative outlet. Rising from the true metal-deprived realm of America, Lorenguard is a unique band among its brethren in the midwest. The music made by Lorenguard is highly influenced by European power metal bands like Rhapsody, Fairyland, Freedom Call, and Kamelot as well as video game and movie soundtracks. Also thrown into the mix are different styles of celtic melodies and classical sensibilities. All this makes up the sound that is Lorenguard, in other words...Fantasy Metal.

The band was formed in the spring of 2004 by a chance meeting. Twins Brady Sadler (drums) and Adam Sadler (bass) had been on a quest for over three years to start a power metal band that was similar to the bands that they admired from Sweden, Germany and Italy...but similar musical minds were hard to find, ecspecially in Indiana. However, Brady recieved word from a guitarist that just so happened to be looking for the same thing. Chris Cruz (guitar) began to write music with the Sadler brothers, and soon they had already written a few songs. It was time to find more warriors to begin their crusade.

Chris contacted a former bandmate from one of his previous bands, Castlevania. TJ Hunt was asked to fill the 2nd guitar slot, and he happily complied. Now the four needed one of the most important elements to their sound. Keyboards. After looking for only a few days, former Castlevania keyboardist David Russell was asked to play for Lorenguard. David's flawless ability on piano and keyboards solidified his spot in the band. The groundwork had been set. This five-piece lineup lasted all the way through the end of 2004, and the band wrote all the songs for their first EP. But a road block had to appear somewhere. A vocalist was needed.

After many months of searching, Brady began to get replies and interest in the vaccant vocal position. Many musicians were excited about a difference in the musical winds, but talent came very scarce. Then word came from not one, but two different vocalists interested in the band. Enter Raleigh Barrett and Rob Stith. Raleigh told Brady that he was a lower ranged singer, and had a voice for narrations, but he knew someone who's range would fit the band very well for the lead vocal spot. Raleigh's friend Rob auditioned for Lorenguard, and that was that. Rob's amazingly melodic and bombastic voice was exactly what the 'Guard was looking for.

Lorenguard's music is only a portion of what the band is truly about. Fantasy and story telling are two things taken very seriously by the band. Listeners should expect to be taken away to another world as they delve into the tales of the Lorenguard.

To the Blade of Winged Glory, hail Lorenguard!

The melodic Master

The music is fucking awesome!
The vocals are strong but could be better!
Great catchy songs but needed to blare out afew
more choruses at the end of the songs to make the
listener more excited. ( A must for your debut !)

Great CD
I'm not into this type of music but I've got to say this is a great cd. I think that they put a lot of time into this and I can't wait until their next cd comes out. Great Job Guys

Incredible, especially live!
I love Metal and especially interesting story-driven themed metal. This leaves me with few listening choices within this small genre. My husband and I happened upon a Lorenguard live show and were instantly hooked on their music. It's incredible that they're such a relatively 'new' band, because their sound is tight like they've been together for many many years.

The music live is phenomenal - and their theatricality what you would expect from a band that had been together at least 3 times as long. It was an intense pleasure to watch them play - and the entrance (I won't spoil it) sent chills up my spine!.

If you are fortunate enough to see them live, you're in for quite a great show. Until then, you'll have the CD (You are going to add it to your cart, right? =)).

Cool stuff! I look forward to hearing more from you.
Nice! A bit on the cheese side, but that's what it's about. It's great to hear some power metal coming from North America. It sounds like you've worked hard at this album, and had a good time. Keep it up!

Truly Epic.. I would have never thought!
I was very sceptical about hearing a "powermetal" band from the states. The states have not really grasped the powermetal concept and even though I search throughly, I have yet to find many worthy bands.
You can imagine the surprise when I pop in this cd from a bunch of guys from Indiania.
Quality! This music will blow you away! My jaw dropped at the first onrush of guitar! Everything is wonderful, from powerful drums to clearly beautiful vocals!
You will regret not picking up this cd!
Are you sure you aren't from Europe?
