JoAnne Lorenzana is best remembered for her hit songs:
I'll Never Let You Go (which occupied the number one slot in the Philippine national charts for two months in 1987), You, Kung Alam mo Lang (which became a theme song for the VIVA blockbuster movie Paano Tatakasan Ang Bukas), Back In Your Arms, Bayan Ko, Hoy Pakibilisan (her first published composition which became a campus and disco favorite in 1990), Sapat Sa Akin Lahat, Without Your Love, and Goodtimes, Badtimes (for which JoAnne produced a music video. It was aired in MTV Asia and Channel V's 'Sigaw Manila', and became one of its top 10 Asian music videos in 1993).

a voice that's missed
Fortunate to have watched this artist a long time ago back in Manila and she is one among easily distinguishable voices. I especially like the new sound I'm hearing with a simple guitar background (try giving a listen to Look of Love, Beyond Ago, Sigh, You Are Mine (sweet) I don't mind hearing her again or watching even. That voice has been missed and I'm glad I can listen to JoAnne again..

listen.......absorb......repeat......
love her music.
above all else, i love the depth and versatility of her voice and the way she expressively inflects every word that displays her raw and genuine emotion in every song. I particularly like " you're hiding" though it's kinda melancholic and "you are mine" so i bought this one. they pull at my heartstrings, one song haunting and soulful, while the other breezy and inspiring.
JoAnne's originals are for mainstream! She makes any song she sings her own, they truly define her. From the time I first heard her hit song "I'll Never Let You Go" in Manila when she was still very young, to this new album where her maturity and depth as a seasoned artist is evident in her songs.... I have always admired and enjoyed her songs!
Between Seasons ........ I recommend .......listen, absorb, repeat.........

A delight of a recording
This is a delight of a recording, almost a smorgasbord of music - songs in English, songs in Tagalog, songs with full arrangements, songs with just acoustic guitar and voice, originals and covers. You may scratch your head upon seeing Bacharach and David's "The Look of Love" and Page and Plant's "The Rain Song" on the same CD, but it works! The recording revolves around the theme of seasons, but by no means in a hackneyed or obvious way. Standout tracks for me are "You're Hiding," "Sigh," "Technicolor" and "Suddenly I Feel June." The arrangements are rich and tasteful, the musicianship spot-on, and JoAnne Lorenzana's voice is warm, clear, strong and controlled – she’s a real pro. I should also mention the excellent, often enchanting, acoustic guitar work of Brant Blower, with his crystalline finger-picking and jazzy-bluesy capabilities. When wife and husband perform together, the effect is genuinely special. This is a rewarding CD all-around. Enjoy!
