This album is so together. It's hearing Basie music like it should be heard. I'm telling the whole world about it - or at least everyone I know. I'll be ordering more copies to give as gifts. This album will enhance anyone's music collection.

Basie would be proud
Classy & classic

Nailed the Basie feel. BEAUTIFUL

I've owned this album for years and it is still one of my favorite in my collection. The Lori Mechem Quartet swings Basie and captures the essense of his Big Band perfectly. This is definitely one of the albums I want with me if I am ever stranded on an island. Bravo!

This is the best of this Basie - type piano jazz I've heard in many years. Would appreciate if you could advise me as to other CD's of this type (Lori Mecham) you have so I may order. Keep up the good Jazz !! Do you have Fats Walller, Earl Hines, Mel Powell, Bud Powell, Teddy Wilson ?

I heard the album on kcsm fm (all jazz station) in san francisco one evening and searched until i found web site...what a pleasure, it is in the basie tradition but it is more than that....it swings all the way through, great rhythm section...i hope this is a new voice that gets heard.

Great CD and artists (Count Basie songs plus Lori Mechem).
The backup: bass, drums and guitar are 5++, you won't hear better.

CDbaby is an excellent web site - you did it right.

Beautifully and articulately performed soft-core jazz. A truly significant contribution to Basie-ana.

Enjoyed the Basie arrangements on this CD
Have been a Basie addict for many years. This CD did as good a job
as possible,I think, for a quartet in reproducing the unique Basie sound.
It's a great CD!
