ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Formed in 1995, Los Mas Valientes brings together some of today’s finest Latin musicians. Collectively, the band’s resume reads like a who’s-who of New York’s jazz and Latin music scene. Its members have played with Chico O’Farrill, Louis Bauzó, Charlie Persip, Max Roach, Orlando Marín, The Nelson Riddle Orchestra, the Kit McClure Band, Jimmy Bosch, Grammy-nominated Juan Carlos Formell...and the list goes on. Taking its name from its leader, Brooklyn-born flutist Jessica Valiente, Los Más Valientes plays original Latin jazz compositions as well as innovative arrangements of Latin jazz standards. On the other hand, if it’s dancing you want, Los Más Valientes can deliver; they play Latin dance music in the classic tradition of the Cachao descargas, Fania All-Stars, Alegre All-stars, and all the legendary charanga bands.

NYC Latin jazz veterans' 4th album release, Los Más Valientes LIVE! at Makor: A 10th Anniversary Celebration, was recorded at a live concert performance before an audience at the 92nd St. Y's renowned midtown supper club, Makor. The repertoire is a collection of favorites from Los Más Valientes' first 3 critically-acclaimed releases, plus three brand new, previously unrecorded titles, to give listeners a taste of Los Mas Valientes yet to come.
