Album Notes
For too long the cello has lived in the shadows. Centuries of tired bass lines and harmonies have left the unique versatility of the cello largely unrecognized. That is about to change. Formed at Yale University in 2004, Low Strung unites the classical virtuosity of twelve cellists with their indomitable rock and roll spirit. These twelve tracks, all time-tested rock anthems, lay bare the most extreme capabilities of the cello: heartbreaking beauty, bone-crunching rawness, and everything in between.

A fovorite of the whole family! When is the next one coming out?

Fantastic!!! I can't stop listening to this cd! Buy it!
One of my violin students told me about this cd and I have started telling everyone I know about it. This cd has great cellists playing terrific arrangements of classic rock songs. The genius of it all is that some of these versions sound better than the originals. Many times, classical instruments playing rock or pop just sound dorky and square, but not this group - they ROCK.

That was beautiful! I can't stop replaying it and just ordered several for presents.
Anna, you rock!!! From-Dallas,TX!!!

Awesome arrangements of pop songs. Scarborough Fair (with the Canticle background) is the only instrumental version of the Simon & Garfunkle classic that I have heard. All the others kept to the Scarborough Fair melody only.

Well worth the cost.

Difficult to believe you are listening to just 12 Cello's it shows what a a versatile instrument a Cello can be. Very well done interpretations of some classic rock songs.!!!

Great Stuff
Hi there . I am all the way form Ireland and came across these guys on Youtube . Never usually buy online but felt compelled! Hope they come to Ireland one day.

I had only heard the small clip of Don't Stop Believing and was blown away by the sound I decided to buy the whole cd. Every song is incredible and they do a great job with each

Best purchase I have ever made! I am using many of the songs for my wedding ceremony as I wanted something classical but with an edge. This reflects both me and my fiances style and couldnt be more perfect! The song stairway to heaven will be our bridal party enterance and the song dont stop believing will be the brides enterance song. I cant wait to see it all come together!
