ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Dangerous voices ................................................... “13 poetry songs project…”

multimedia project by luigi g.colarullo

The Vision

An ambitious multi-media extravaganza, “Poetry Songs Project,” the work of renowned artist Luigi G. Colarullo, combines music, poetry, moving and still images, to create an experience that speaks to the spirit, senses, mind and soul.

“For a long time now, we have become accustomed to absorbing images, sounds and words all at once. It is as if one art form alone is no longer complete enough. I was inspired by the need to unite these mediums and create a dialogue between them………………
…and so the genesis of … “Dangerous voices.............13 poetry songs project...”
Luigi G. Colarullo

The Experience

“1Dangerous voices......” is designed as a multi-media experience that embraces poetry, music, video and visual arts.
Colarullo, an artist of multimedia, has conceived a sensual and inspiring “happening” that is a celebration of light and lyric, form and fluidity, rhythm and rhapsody.

The installation will be staged in galleries and spaces suitable for multimedia events, i.e., places where music can be performed, either pre-recorded or live, and images projected.

Hanging on the walls will be vibrant abstract photographs that manipulate light and time. Short narrative videos will punctuate the space exploring themes of love, sensuality and metamorphosis. Provocative poetry, set to hypnotic music, will create a futuristic soundtrack of entrancing rhythm. Words projected on the ceiling will fall down like rain, morphing as they land on faces, bodies, walls. By simply entering the installation, the audience will become part of its ever-changing canvas.

This union of music, poetry and images will result in a new art form that exalts each medium, much greater than the sum of its parts...

A journey between past and present that creates the future…

A feast for the eyes, ears and spirit that truly touches the soul…

The Poetry

13 poems exploring seminal motifs such as truth, metamorphisis, rejuvenation, affirmation, celebrity, fashion, fear, desire, lust, and love form a verbal mosaic that completely envelop and enrapture the audience.
The words are recited by co-author Novella Massaro, whose fresh and sensuous voice fills the work with irony, depth and sophistication.
The rich harmonies and bold rhythms of Colarullo’s music create an evocative ambience , an intense and gentle “rap” that enhances the words and enriches the images forming a seamless soundtrack .
