ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
As we enter a brand new year of uncertainties and new challenges. One of UK’s, rising stars has put together an E.P entitled ‘Rise Up’.

Lyrical Soldier, who is of Ghanaian origin describes himself as a ‘Lyrical Minister’ with a talent to inspire, transcend, challenge, motivate and educate music fans. worldwide. With the self-titled video ‘Rise Up’ already play listed across Kiss TV, Invincible TV, Channel O in Africa and more. 2013 is already proving to be the year that sees the young rapper truly breakthrough as an artist set to challenge the typical norms.

The ‘Rise Up’ E.P which features some notable collaborations including the Legendary Papa San and Bobby Bovell sees Lyrical Soldier touch on subjects including; Homelessness, Alcoholism, Young people’s attitudes towards crime and desperate call for people to rise up from their difficulties and aim for a better outcome through having faith in God.

Lyrical Soldier is certainly standing up as a cut above the rest in an industry heavily influenced by negativity. “I put God first in everything I do and my music speaks to the people who haven’t got a voice but are going through any kind of pain. If I can inspire you through music to choose God as the solution to your problem. Then my mission is on its way”. commented Lyrical Soldier.

Lyrical Soldier, real name Michael Agyei is of Ghanaian origin and is a preacher, singer, rapper and a spoken word poet aiming to take Gospel Music to higher heights. 2013 has already seen the mainstream music industry recognize this
talented new gospel artist by making the coveted list for Ones to Watch 2013 being put together by one of the world’s biggest music organisations, the Urban Music Awards. The number one, hip hop, r&b, gospel, and dance music awards ceremony held in the UK, USA, France, Caribbean and Africa annually. CEO/Founder of the Urban Music Awards, Jordan Kensington commented “The Urban Music Awards has supported a plethora of up and coming and established musicians for over 11 years and we are always keen to develop, support, and nurture gospel talent. Raymond & Co, Guvna B, Mary Mary, The London Community Gospel Choir have all won our previous Best Gospel Act categories and as a Christian
myself. It is extremely important to see artist like Lyrical Soldier totally committed in spreading the word of God through music”.

Former MP, Lembit Opik added “Lyrical Soldier is a truly inspirational artist and many more should follow in his footsteps”.

The future looks quite bright for the young soldier who is set not to fight the war not with weapons but with words that will shine the light for many.
