ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Every song on this 15 track album speaks to Mac Dezzo's lifestyle; hustlin, pimpin, ridin, and gettin twisted. This album does a great job of expressing what goes on in the mind of Mac Dezzo and what kind of experiences he has faced throughout his life. It starts out with a glimpse into Mac Dezzo's crazy multiple personalities with a skit set in Salt Lake International Airport where a young LDS man gets a little out of hand after missing a flight. Acoustic guitar then ushers us into into 'Sidewayz', a hard hitter with an eerie west-coast synth. This one features local legend Mak Demon and Seattle's King Smooth Ace, each bringing their distinct style to the table. Sideways flows right into 'We Do', a gangstafied club banger with live bass, deep horns and strings, futuristic synths, and even some vocoder, this beat knocks! Some of the other hits include 'Purple' which is a tribute to the finest grades of ganja featuring Playboy W. of Santa Rosa, CA. The beat consists of lots of live instruments including Dezzo's father on piano and electric guitar and really gives a uniquely modern feel to some old school blues riffs. 'Summertime' is a low key smoking/driving song, labeled "The Summertime Anthem" by fans featuring 2Face (Coleone and Savvy Yola, also featured on 4 other songs) and local R&B singer Dmon. My favorite song, 'Ride Wit A G' brings a catchy tropical rude boy vibe thanks to featured artist Ras Benjamin (hailing from Saint Lucia) who spits an awesome opening verse. Wut's Purpulatin' comes to a close with 'Nothing To A Boss', 'Hustler', 'I Sleep With My Gat', and 'End of Discussion' bringing a classic gangsta vibe with talk of violence, thoughts of death, and testimony to the never ending struggles of life on the street. The last track, 'End Of Discussion' leaves the listener pondering their own mortality with a very dark and eerie beat, sadistic lyrics, and the gruesome sounds of someone getting the shit beat out of them. It's kind of a final warning for those who choose to look down on Mac Dezzo. This collection of songs covering a wide range of styles is unlike anything else I've heard, but does hint to west coast influences like Mac Dre, Celly Cel, Suga Free, Baby Bash. Pick one up and you won't be disappointed!
