ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
With his fourth album, Thomas Patrick Maguire trades in the crackly sound of his earlier lo-fi albums for a fuller, crisper experience. Featuring possibly his best-written set of songs, TEMPER TANTRUMS CAUSE DELAYS is exactly what you need from a new TPM album.

Maguire is still ruminating over the topics of class differences ("I Am Not An Elitist", "Corporation Town"), the bumpy roads of relationships ("Invitation To Leave", "Promise Me You'll Be Alright"), and alcohol ("Dyslexic Youth", "Drunken Bird"), themes which are familiar from earlier albums.

Yet the end result, co-produced by Brian Speaker (The Everybody Knows) and Jon Sebastian (The Color Wheels), feels like a quantum leap forward in terms of sonic ambition. He may not have recorded his very own "Blonde on Blonde" yet, but it seems like he's made his "Bringing It All Back Home."
