ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Its funny how even though they’re repping Vancouver, Canada, these guys sound like everything you loved about hip-hop before it went all flashy and pop. Each MC is a well-rounded battle rapper and writer in their own right, reminiscent of a younger and hungrier Brother Ali or Mac Lethal. Their live shows are energetic and usually packed while they’re recorded material embodies a contagious rawness similar to that of the U.S.’s, Rhymesayers Ent.

Awesome
One of the best CD I own this year. I just have one problem: I'm french so I never could see them on stage... :(

i like the flow the guy on this song reminds me of cbino xl. i also like the smooth but too bluesy dept of the tune habits. these guys have that good story tell feel that has left rap now.

With the time-tested tradition of lyrical raps continuously threatening to go the way of the dodo, it's always encouraging to hear a crew putting the words first. These three Canadian MCs pack syllables with punches, jutting in and out of each other's rhyme schemes with a precision that emphasizes both craftsmanship and an unbridled passion for the music they make. The beats stick with a decidedly East Coast feel, but their individual vocal styles are flexible and versatile, giving nods to both old school and contemporary ways of working. The music does the same, incorporating a deep selection of well-placed and executed cuts and scratches over beats that, while clearly influenced by late-80's/early 90's hip hop, don't sound dated or trite in the least. The subject matter, while often serious, strays away from the hyper-critical, instead opting for a telling-it-like-it-is method that, when combined with their penchant for narrative raps, is a powerful tool of expression. If we needed more proof that Canada is a hotbed for indie hip hop right now, here it is.
